Bartholomew "Bart" J. Simpson is a fictional character from the animated TV Show *The Simpsons*.
He first appeared on *The Tracey Ullman Show* in the short "Good Night" on April 19, 1987. Bart is the mischievous, rebellious, and underachieving ten-year-old son of Homer and Marge Simpson, and the brother of Lisa and Maggie. He is best known for his catchphrases such as "Eat my shorts!" and "Ay, caramba!"
